For those not familiar with Project Fibonacci®, it is a non-profit organization committed to using interdisciplinary STEAM learning, to teach young people how to become creative, independent leaders of community resurgence.

Each year they host a weeklong leadership conference that lets participants immerse themselves in technology related topics and apply critical thinking skills to what they learn.

“My thanks Bruce! Brilliant concept!! Went over extremely well.”
– Dr. Andy Drozd, Chairman of the Board and Founder Project Fibonacci Foundation and Andro Computational Solutions

This year’s theme “Artificial Intelligence, the Smart Machine & the Human Factor” was particularly poignant and timely – allowing conference participants to delve into the complexities of AI, exploring both its potential benefits and the challenges it presents.

After an introduction to Steampunk art and hearing Bruce’s background story for the “Time-O-Graph”, participants set off on a mission to use an antique phonograph crank handle record player, vintage clock, and other eclectic parts in creating a functional piece of art that could respond to voice commands with the help of ChatGPT.

The “time travel” theme of the ModVic workshop took students through a creative collaboration process, exploring the relationship between form and function.

The one-of-a-kind workshop managed to combine history, art, engineering, and technology, specifically incorporating artificial intelligence into the project.

Conference participants worked in groups of four to create a Steampunk Time Machine with an interactive AI generated voice of Sherlock Holmes.

Bruce was thrilled to collaborate with his son, Joseph Rosenbaum, Director of Digital Learning, Technology & Innovation at Yeshiva University, who was also leading his own conference workshop, in which participants were challenged to create an “AI Constitution” protecting the rights of “non-sentient” intelligence.

Joseph helped “Time-O-Graph” participants in understanding how to effectively use AI ChatGPT to accomplish their project goals of creating a human to AI interaction between people and the fictitious literary character, Sherlock Holmes.

Participants demonstrate the form and function of their project in a short explainer video.

“Bruce, Thanks for joining us at this year’s Project Fibonacci® Conference and incorporating AI into your STEAMPUNK Adventure. You helped our scholars create an AI application in a fun and provocative way by incorporating ChatGPT into their own ‘Time-O-Graph’.  You provide a uniqueness to our conference that is much appreciated.”
