JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort completes recent renovation of its 10K Alley entertainment center with stylish new decor
The centerpiece of this resort “watering hole” looks like just the kind of place you might bump into Captain Nemo himself, enjoying a drink and spinning tales of 20,000 Leagues and beyond!
Towering 20 ft. overhead and offering 50 unique beers on tap, the “Aquarium” BeerTank offers thirst quenching varieties for every palette.
Once again, ModVic and Salmon Studios have teamed up to deliver a unique experience that leaves an impression on all who stumble upon this Marriott Resort oasis when escaping from the Florida heat!
Nautical, whimsical, and functional
Built on an aluminum frame “skeleton”, the surface of the structure is wrapped in copper cladding with rivets and features copper piping and reclaimed boat porthole windows.
Following the circular contour, a 6” decorative beer ring holds a total of 50 spigots.
Below that, a second ring serves as a beer tower drain, catching any overspill and keeping the area clean and safe for staff.
The entire cylinder rests on a millwork base offering cabinets and storage space for serving equipment and essentials.
The inside of the fermentation tank is actually “empty” although it gives the illusion of holding the golden elixir within. Fifty beer lines supply the front facing faucets from barrels hidden somewhere above the serving station.
Ornate details and hardware tie in with the game and“fantasy” theme of the Marriott entertainment center.
Future Updates
Perhaps the coolest feature of the Beer Tank & Tap “Aquarium” is yet to come. Plans have been drafted to integrate video monitors with the antique porthole window frames. These video screens will be direct-lit LCD displays, capable of playing a single piece of continuous content across all six portholes.
Our vision for the display screens is to reimagine the‘inside’ of an active beer fermentation tank (including liquid bubbling and foam). In our alternative Steampunk Beer Tank, visitors are likely to spot an octopus, a mermaid, or some other aquatic creature. Video displays can also be upgraded to support interactivity or react to movements of patrons surrounding the bar.
“EoA turned to Modvic to interpret and manufacture our design, fusing steampunk, sculpture & beer tap technology together to create this iconic tank. It is the central focal point of the space and it is an impressive example of true craftmanship. They really came through for us on this project.” said Harris Levy, a Principal with EoA Inc. in Coral Gables, FL.
