Sure, you’ve likely seen plenty of steampunk apparatuses of various quality and craftsmanship. But Bruce and Melanie Rosenbaum of ModVic took their home’s renovation with a serious eye to detail worthy of the finest of Victorian era aesthetics. The whole 1901 home has been done up to incorporate modern technological conveniences, like the plasma display above, with the Steampunk aesthetic that complements the various period details throughout.

Details include beautiful period specific dimmer switches, an antique thermostat, a working World War II battleship telephone, a water filtration and purification system built into an antique water heater for their canines, and a huge fireplace mantle converted into a home theater system with surround sound accessible from a front stove door.

There’s really too much to describe in detail and Jake von Slatt over at Steampunkworkshop has done an exemplary job of listing all the stunning decorative and technological details that grace the house, inside and out. Afterward, swing over to Modvic’s steampunk page for further Victorian era eye candy.
