ROME, N.Y. — The eighth annual Project Fibonacci STEAM Leadership Conference is here.
This year’s theme is the “Quantum Realm: Time, Teleportation and Entanglement.”
Leaders said this theme is current with the times.
There have been rising concerns about AI, and the conference touches on the challenges and expands on students’ understanding.
Founder and Chairman of the Board Dr. Andrew Drozd said, “It is about growing a workforce that knows how to attack complex problems and is willing to embrace it, work on, and solve it in a way that has never been done before…Be mindful of the emerging technology like AI, quantum, all of these new things that are coming that are going to affect the way the workforce will evolve. They need to be prepared, and our community needs to be prepared to embrace this.”
60 students from across New York State are participating in the immersive experience.
Those students went through a vetting process that included nominations, interviews and a teacher recommendation letter.
The conference is a fully immersive experience, providing students with a full itinerary of speakers, workshops and career preparation.
